Position will be responsible for implementing proactive measures designed to prevent damages, analyzing damage trends, performing quality audits and recommending remedial measures to further enhance locate accuracy and documentation.

The Quality Assurance Auditor will be responsible for performing the following duties:

  • Taking proactive measures to prevent damages
  • Verifying accuracy of locates.
  • Review ticket responses in ticket management software for accuracy and proper documentation
  • Double checking high profile locates
  • Verifying the quality of difficult and large project locates
  • Performing risk-based audits as requested by manager or customer
  • Respond to customer failed audits and able to identify root cause of failed audits.
  • Keep track of audits and effectively communicate with management and operations regarding audit findings
  • Analyze damage trends and recommend remedial, corrective, and disciplinary actions designed to improve locator performance and protect the company and customer’s interests
  • Assist operations in developing and implementing performance improvement plans
  • Interact with customers and the public on high profile and intricate locates
  • Perform damage investigations
  • Ride and train/mentor locators in the field and in classroom environments
  • Assist in Safety/tailgate meetings
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.


  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of one year of locating experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Clean background check for access to restricted and/or controlled areas.
  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass random drug screens and to remain drug free.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions
  • Dependable and trustworthy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to look beyond the standard solutions
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to locate all types of utilities and troubleshoot issues properly
  • Ability to train new locators as well as retrain existing staff


  • May require weekend and holiday work when necessary.
  • Some travel maybe required including overnight stays and out of town assignments and or training.
  • Ability to speak in front of a variety field and office personnel, as well as customer representatives and members of the public regarding damage prevention issues and effectively represent the company
  • Specialized skills training/certification may be required.
  • Thorough understanding of locate equipment and tools
  • Thorough understanding of elements contained in NULCA standards, company procedures, state one call laws, and CGA best practices
  • General knowledge of computers and programs (Excel/Word/TCor/Locsys)
  • Experience and knowledge of the QC processes in place by Customer
  • Ability to walk all types of terrain (grass, ditches, wooded areas, gravel, etc.) in and around construction zones and residential, commercial, industrial and rural areas in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, cold, heat, etc.)


  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds in a physical environment
  • Ability to stand and walk for periods of time up and exceeding 60 minutes
  • Regular exposure to factors such as temperatures extremes and variety of terrains
