Senior Manager – FP&A

Stake Center Locating has an opportunity in Greensboro, NC for a high potential, results-oriented Senior Manager – FP&A to provide financial and operational support to the utility locating business!

Candidate will provide preparation, consolidation, analysis and reporting of financial data used to summarize and measure status, evaluate business plans, identify variances and forecast results. Position requires flexibility as well as the ability to work with large amounts of data and draw directional conclusions from that data. Candidate must possess strong analytical skills and sound business judgment. This position reports to the CFO for Stake Center Locating.


  • Evaluate monthly actual results for reasonableness / variance to Plan / Prior Year / Prior Estimate, including partnership with BU finance leads to understand their financial performance.
  • Support the development of the Annual Budget.
  • Identify trends and improvement opportunities; suggest corrective actions for implementation.
  • Prepare / consolidate interim monthly progress reports.
  • Analyze weekly / monthly volume trends and the corresponding implications on the business.
  • Lead the monthly analysis of actual results & deviations to forecast related to cash flow and balance sheet. Develop report formats and analytical models that assist in forecasting of Working Capital and Cash flow.
  • Provide analytical financial support for Business review & Executive Leadership Team presentations, including preparation of notes and backup for senior leadership reviews.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years’ experience



  • Deep experience in financial forecasting (5-10 years), preferably in related industries.
  • Deep experience in forecasting and analyzing the balance sheet and cash flows.
  • Proven ability to work in partnership with senior management.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present his or her recommendations effectively to senior management in both written form and orally.
  • Must be assertive in presenting his or her viewpoint, but not overly aggressive.
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and delivering a quality work product on time.
  • Great Plains experience a plus.
  • Experience in working across multiple functional disciplines and business unit groups to gain consensus.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, corporate reporting requirements, financial analysis techniques, and budgeting/forecasting processes.
  • Proven track record with financial process / reporting improvement and simplification.
  • Ability to develop and apply financial models.
  • Strong PC skills including advanced knowledge of SQL, PowerBI, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong financial/cost analysis and budgeting/forecasting skills.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and sound business judgment.
  • Self-direction and organization skills critical to achieve month-end reporting deadlines.
